ABOUT MELANIE STEVERSON-JARVIS

Personal Philosophy
Nature has always been a special part of my life. My passion for the outdoors started at an early age and was cultivated by my grandparents who loved nature and were wonderful backyard gardeners. As a child some of my fondest memories were of sitting outside watching the birds and sampling the raspberries my grandmother grew while my grandfather worked with his plants nearby.

Though I bought my first book of herbs in Sturbridge Village when I was sixteen, it wasn’t until I became a parent myself that my desire to learn more about herb gardens, meditative gardens. and medicinal gardens really blossomed. In twenty-five years I have learned a lot about growing herbs and encouraging people to make them a part of their daily routine.

I began to attend classes, read books, and started incorporating natural beliefs and practices into our everyday lives.  My belief in the power of plants to heal is so strong that it led me to return to college to study therapeutic horticulture in hopes of helping others to benefit from learning how to channel nature’s tranquility and healing powers into their own lives.

Business Philosophy
Just as nature has been my teacher, I want to share what I have learned over the years with others. Healing with Nature’s Gifts is the culmination of all of my knowledge and experience. Through placement of plants and other natural materials I strive to use specific landscaping techniques to restore balance to your garden or property. My use of native plants is another key element in my success as a landscaper.

My business allows me to do what I do best, working with plants each day while helping you learn to coexist with plants and wildlife and benefit from nature’s healing properties.
